When we are looking to become pregnant, we sometimes have a specific gender in mind that we would enjoy having over the other. This is especially true for parents who already have children and are looking to have a gender that they do not have yet.

If you are looking to have a boy you will be happy to know there are some things that you can do to make this more of a possibility. All it takes is a little bit of planning and some good luck and you can increase the chances that you have of having a boy.

1. Shettles Method

When relying on the Shettles method, it is important to remember that this method is based upon the speed of male sperm versus female sperm. Female sperm are naturally stronger and larger than male sperm, meaning that if they reach the egg at the same time as the male sperm, they are likely to overpower the sperm and fertilize the egg, resulting in a girl being conceived.

Shettles Method

However, because the female sperm is larger they tend to move slower and this means that they have the possibility of reaching the egg sooner. If you track your ovulation schedule, you can easily know when you are ready to ovulate. When you have determined the time that you will be fertile, make sure that you and your partner have intercourse 1 to 4 days before you ovulate. By doing this, the female sperm will not be able to beat the male sperm to the egg and fertilize it.

2. Improve your sperm

It may also be possible that your partner’s sperm counts can affect the sex of the baby. There are many things that you can do to protect your sperm and give you both a better chance of you becoming pregnant and to increase the chances of a boy.

keep your testes cool

You will need to keep your testes cool during this time and maintain a healthy diet that is free from harmful products. When it is nearing the time for your partners ovulate, make sure that you refrain from having an orgasm for a handful of days before she is set to ovulate. This may help improve your chances of having a boy.

3. Control how you have sex

There are also certain things that you can do while having sex to increase your chances of having a boy. For example, it is believed that if a woman orgasms while she is having sex the sperm will be drawn into the cervix faster and will give the male sperm a head start on reaching the egg before the female sperm does.

Control how you have sex

It also helps if penetration is deep so that the sperm can get closer to the cervix. This may help the male sperm reach the egg faster than the female sperm because they swim faster. These are both different ways that you can change up the sex that you have in order to improve your chances of having a boy instead of a girl.

4. Staying Healthy

Make sure that both you and your partner are staying healthy during this process as well. If you eat right, exercise and live a healthier lifestyle, you may be able to increase your chances of having a boy.

Staying Healthy

There are certain foods that can help improve your fertility and make your ovulation cycle more regulated. By having a regulated ovulation cycle, you will have a better chance of having a boy because you will know when the best time to have intercourse is and will be able to offer male sperm the correct amount of time that they need to fertilize the egg.

5. Conclusion

It is important to realize that there is no way to guarantee that you will have one gender over the other. For some, becoming pregnant with a boy is important, and they tend to be disappointed if they have a girl. It is important that you maintain a healthy lifestyle regardless of the gender of your baby.

healthy lifestyle

While these methods have been helpful, you should not become reliant on them and assume that you will have one gender over the other if you apply them to your pregnancy efforts. Try to keep an open mind and do not become disappointed if you have a girl rather than a boy.

Be careful when and how you use it

I bought into the hype and broke down and tried this product. After all, how can you resist something that claims that the fat is literally taken out of some of the food that you eat! I must say, though, pay attention to the directions on the package. I used it for a few days with none of the negative effects that many people experience. But during those times I ate fairly healthy meals and nothing too fatty. Then I went out with friends and didn't think about the fact I had taken these pills. I ate chicken wings, blue cheese and french fries. And spent most of the night and a good portion of the next day with several occasions of racing to the bathroom because of digestive issues. I suppose it shows that it does remove "stuff" from your diet because I sometimes have issues going at all and with using this product I went several times a day. But is it worth the risk? Besides, I have no idea if taking the pill was making a difference in my weight loss or if I was having success because I was being more careful in my food choices leading to lower calorie intake.

Weight Loss through Fear of Embarrassment

Was excited to try Alli, heard such great things. Did not see anything for the first couple days I took this. Then came the HORRIBLE side effects. Oily, greasy residue in your underwear and the toilet, and the smell. Oh my gosh. It was awful. Talk about eating healthy - for fear of what this will do to you. Didn't even finish the first bottle it was so terrible.
